Artist Statement

Every painting tells a story…viewing my artwork tells you a little of my own. My aim is to capture the soul of a subject and share part of my own with each brush stroke and my color palette. It lets you see the world the way I see it—intense, powerful, vibrant. Meaningful parts of my life are revealed as my artistic direction evolves. My hope is that viewers of my work are inspired.

I consider myself primarily self-taught, pursuing art on- and off- over the last 20 years. I challenged myself by taking drawing classes at The Art Students League on Saturdays or going to the American Museum of Natural History to draw taxidermy animals or sculptures at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. I began painting earnestly in 2012.

Frequently working on commission, I create several pieces each year within a theme. My artwork is in private collections in New York, California, Connecticut, Florida, Pennsylvania, Virginia and England.
